Paws for A Cause

I’ve joined my friend Tania to walk in the 2012 Annual BCSPCA Paws for a Cause flagship walk this coming September. September seems so far away, I think surely I’ll be able to raise some money! Since I entered and emailed my friends, co-workers and family- a generous donation has come in :-) I know however, that there is much more to be raised. All I’m asking for is whatever anyone can afford. Maybe that’s $5…maybe it’s $50. It doesn’t have to be a whopping amount…

Because I work in Animal Health I see the importance of the SPCA in the communities and shelters in general. We urge people to adopt, not buy…and where better to go than checking out the amazing pets waiting for their ‘forever homes’ at these facilities.

I ask you talk to people you know about adoption. Talk to them about the importance of spaying and neutering. Raise awareness in your own way, and if you feel so inclined, donate a little to the Paws for A Cause by clicking HERE.

    • I don’t understand either. Status symbols? A show of wealth? Somehow the assumption that purebreds are better? I see it every day at my clinic- so many purebred problems…the “Heinz 57″ from the shelters can be healthier. Thank you for reading and spread awareness in YOUR city :-)

  1. I used to be a member of SPCA in the year 1995-1999, after that work marriage, family took first priorities.. Somehow my love for the animals took a back seat, it didn’t really die, but it is not few of the first few priorities..

I am getting a great chance to start doing something for these animals again!

    • Every little bit counts. If it’s talking about it, donating, volunteering, fostering…whatever you can do, for ANY cause, is help enough. Thanks so much for the comment and stopping by :-)

  2. I really admire the effort that goes into things like this. I used to work in retail for 4 years and it was pretty soul destroying but from there I moved onto working ib business to business ales which was alright for a few months. It wast until I started working helping animals that I released I was actually doing something I enjoyed and getting up on a morning was no longer something that I dreaded!
