• LAS MORAS RESERVE, TANNAT 2007 – ARGENTINA $$

Chere Michelle Said: “My 1st sip was FABULOUS! I swear I swooned. The taste was big, bold and intensely fruity. There wasn’t an overwhelming alcohol scent or after-bite; was smooth. Vanilla. My Guy doesn’t seem to remember how much he praised that first glass…”

My Friend Said: “Deeper tastes in the beginning than other wines from this country….BUT… a rather thin, drier finish- left me wanting more from it!”

** He later said (after reading my review) “Apparently I loved it the first night. Not so much 5 days later.”

What the hell were we doing with wine 5 days later? Sigh.

Final Comments: Drink your wine the night you buy it. This stuff is good. Really.

• CONO SUR CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2009 – CHILE $$

Chere Michelle Said: “Dammit I can’t remember this wine. Why don’t we write these reviews WHILE we’re drinking?? I need another bottle…”

My Friend Said: “Why is it that reds w/ bicycles on the label are always a good choice? Once again Chilean wine proves itself to be one of the best in the genre of fruity darks.”

Final Comments: This stuff must have been good. My Guy is very passionate about wines with bicycle labels. I guess it’s how you tell a good one…

• TRIVENTO TRIBU, MALBEC 2009 – ARGENTINA $

Chere Michelle Said: “I am seriously in love with Malbecs! (no offense honey…) So lush and fruity. Deep!”

My Friend Said: “Better than ‘Circus’ anyway. Still not as good as ‘Domain’. I’m still looking for that dark fruit BITE without much burn. This has the smoothness but not the BIG round notes.”

He put a happy face after his comment. I swear.

Final Comments: A decent Malbec for under $15!!

• FUZION SHIRAZ-MALBEC – ARGENTINA $

Chere Michelle Said: “Wow. A bottle under $10 this heady and rich?” Ok maybe I didn’t say that exactly but I did rave. Alot. This is a damn fine wine.

My Friend Said: I didn’t share it with him.
